    Nike and apple united and came up with a new product that falls under the category of additions to existing product lines and improvements or revisions of existing products. This new product is called the nike + ipod sensor. This product is like having your own "personal trainer" All you need is an ipod nano and ipod touch and iphone or a pair of Nike sport sneakers. Inside the Nike shoe  there is a pocket inside the insoles in which you can put the sensor.  The ipods and iphones already comes with a build in sensor so you will have the nike + ipod support so will not need to buy the sensor. With this build in your ipods, iphones or stored in you nike shoes as you run or walk this will tell you the time, distance, pace and calories burned and while doing your work out your ipod will give you feed back.With the nike + ipod you can set your goal for your work out. you can set the time, distance, and calories you want to burn. After you set this up you can choose a playlist you want to listen to or choose nike created sports music which gives you a list of music to motivate your work out. If you want when you finish your work out your ipod or iphone will wirelessly send your work out data to nikeplus.com When you go on the website you can see your accomplishements and complted runs you can even share it with runners around the world. This sensor is also good because you can connect your ipod to a nike+ ipod compatible cardio machine at the gym and track your work out progress.            The reason that this new product falls under the category of additions to an existing product and improvements and revision of existing products. The nike+ipod sensor is an addition and improvement of a product called the pedometer which can also tell you the distance and the calories you walked. Nike+ipod sensor is an improved pedometer because it has more features you can listen to your music while working out and if you buy the the sensor for your there is no need to carry anything around when you are exersing. The nike+ipod also compatible with cardio machines at the gym.
      Nike uses brainstorming to know what poducts their consumers are interested in. When brainstorming Nike comes up with new ideas for their products. As consumers we are helping Nike with their ideas because of the nike poducts that most of us buy which shows Nike what we are mostly interested in.
